The US Department of Transportation (USDOT) has published a report on a study into the current state of the practice for low-speed automated shuttles. The study focusses on low-speed automated shuttles that are designed to go slower than 40km/h and are intended for shared-service use. The USDOT’s review of low-speed automated shuttle technology defines design and service characteristics, documents the current status of demonstrations and deployments, assesses market opportunities and limitations, identifies issues and challenges and provides recommendations for future research
